囊山村位于涵江区北部，处龙潭山南麓的半山区。东与坂梁村为邻，西与梧塘镇九峰村交界，南面紧靠国欢镇沁东村。[1]

村名以山得名：村子坐落在囊山境内，村落面积约2.5平方公里。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

「囊山慈寿寺」又称囊山寺，位于本村。据百度百科，寺院最早名伏虎庵，开山者为唐代妙应禅师，兴建于唐僖宗乾符三年（876年）。闽王王审知后来主持扩建，寺名改作「慈寿禅寺」。1983年，国务院把它定为汉族地区的全国重点佛寺。博雅地名网记其创建于唐中和元年（881年），两说并存。[3][4]

囊山主峰海拔639米，山石多为裸露的花岗岩，峰峦层叠，被列为莆田二十四景之一。宋代朱熹赴同安任职时，曾在寺中住宿。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立初期，村地属七区刘坂乡，后又并入梧塘区；1958年成为涵江公社石庭联队下的囊山大队，1965年归江口公社。1984年底设村委会，此后归涵江区管辖。[2]

2021年3月，村子获评「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2022年10月，入选「2022年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」；2022年12月，获评「2022年福建省卫生村」；2024年6月，列入「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」名单；2025年6月，认定为「2025年莆田市一村一品专业村」，主导产业为文化旅游。[1]
