厚峰村位于江口镇西北，依傍佛日山，距福厦公路及高速入口约1公里，福厦铁路涵江站离村约500米。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子先前叫鲤峰，两座山丘像鲤鱼，故得此名。古时村民在山脚（今后山路一带）开过蔗坊，称后坊。1960年代起，因方言谐音，才改称厚峰。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域面积约2.6平方公里，下辖厚峰、中宅、后董三个自然村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
旧属莆田兴化府，1949年归石庭区管辖；1953年并入江口公社丰美大队，1963年分出设厚峰大队；1984年设厚峰村，此后归涵江区江口镇。[2]
2022年12月，村子获评「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
