丰美村坐落在戴云山的山麓，属半山区。东侧与新前村接壤，距镇所在地约2公里；朝南骑车约一公里即到福厦公路。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子原叫港尾，民国时称邦尾，后因方言谐音，雅化成「丰美」。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域面积约2.4平方公里，辖顶邦尾、东田两个自然村及8个村民小组。北面山麓多龙眼林。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋元时期村地属唐安乡永丰里，明清属莆田县第三区，民国时划入石江保。1954年归江口镇公社，1984年定名丰美村，此后归涵江区管辖。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
「江口列宁小学旧址」位于东田自然村。1928年底，国民党在莆田清党，农会被撤销，群众运动遭禁止；中共莆田县委力量受挫，改把工作重心转向农村，斗争由公开改为隐蔽。县委委员陈天章、王纪修分头在江口与东泉开办列宁小学，挂名为私塾，实际作为地下交通站和骨干培训基地。江口列宁小学设在福展宫。[3]
2021年11月，村子获评「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
