东楼村在江口镇政府的西南方向，紧邻国营赤港华侨农场，离福厦公路（324国道）约一公里。村域面积约1.8平方公里。[1]

村名取自四个自然村的字样：东施、埔埕、东蔡合成「东」，西蔡对应「楼」，因而称东楼村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

早年村地在江口区东吴保、东吴乡等建制之间变动；1956年一度归梧塘东吴乡，1957年划入石庭东吴高级社。1962年独立为西楼大队，1965年改称江口公社东楼大队。1984年底设为江口镇东楼村，2002年起归涵江区江口镇东楼村委会。[2]

2022年12月，村子获评「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

紫霞堂位于东楼村，康熙二十年（1681年）始建，乾隆戊申年（1788年）重建，近年修缮。建筑坐北朝南，为二进合院。[1]
