前面村面朝兴化湾，北侧紧挨福厦公路，东边与李厝村相连，西边与五星村为邻。地理位置方便，土地肥沃。[1]
地名由来[edit]
明代洋尾李氏来此开垦村落，村址背靠后面（地名），临近官道，因而得名前面。[1]
经济[edit]
全村占地769亩，其中耕地303亩，另有海水养殖滩涂3800亩，合计448户人家。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
旧属东利境嘉兴社。新中国成立初期归七区郊前乡，1955年改属石庭管理区，1958年归涵江公社；1961年成为石庭公社前面大队，1965年转属江口公社。1984年底改设前面村委会，2002年划入涵江区江口镇。[2]
2021年3月，村子获评「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，获评「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，经认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
