海星村面向兴化湾，北接新前村，南邻李厝村，东侧是海湾，西边背靠鲤鱼山。[1]

村落约1.2平方公里，另有滩涂600亩。村民世代以海为业，村名即由此而来。[1]

经济[edit]

村里的海产以海蛎、海蛏为主。村民的生计来自下海捕捞、养殖海产，也有人外出务工。2024年9月，村子被认定为2024年莆田市「一村一品」专业村，主导产业是海蛎。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年前后为生产大队，后改设村委会，此后一直隶属江口镇，现归涵江区管辖。[2]

2021年2月，村子列入「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」；2021年11月，获评「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，经福建省农业农村厅认定，成为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
