沁后村位于梧塘镇西北部，村域在木兰溪支流梧梓河的上游，沁后水库在村边。村名出自明代时沁姓村民在山后盆地聚居的历史。村内有工业型经济，并保存多处近现代历史建筑。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年起此地属名山乡，1956年改称太平乡。1957年设沁后高级社，1958年称沁后大队。1984年12月，它成为梧塘乡下的沁后村；次年3月改归梧塘镇。2002年以后，村落隶属涵江区梧塘镇。[2]

经济与荣誉[edit]

沁后村是工业型行政村，规模以上企业有8家，主要从事鞋革加工，外来就业人口达1万多人。村庄先后获省、市、区授予的「先进基层党组织」「计划生育先进单位」「民主法治示范村」等称号。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

过山自然村的过山蔡氏大宗祠建于民国时期，2020年12月列为「涵江区第九批文物保护单位」。同村的蔡氏万兴堂宅建于1934年，中西合璧，属「涵江区第八批区级文物保护单位」。[3]

过山自然村内还有省三小学交通站旧址。该校1910年创办，即今天的沁后小学。1929年，莆田地下党在校内展开秘密工作；同年秋天，蔡拱北出任校长，此后学校又设立了秘密交通站。[3]
