枫林村位于梧塘镇西北部，村域处于梧塘平原的北端，东邻霞楼村，西至萩芦镇双亭村一带的田厝溪。古时这里是传递官府文书的驿路所经之处，村内有宋代始建的枫林世惠祠。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

枫林村由梅岑与林外两个自然村合并而成，合并时各取一村首字定名。梅岑一带方言称“枫嶺”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后，村属枫林乡。1958年，此地成为枫林大队；文革时期曾设枫林革命领导小组。1984年12月，它归梧塘乡管辖，称枫林村委会；1985年3月起改属梧塘镇。2002年以后，村属涵江区梧塘镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

枫林世惠祠位于梅岺自然村，建于宋代，此后屡经重修。祠内由前殿、天井与主殿组成，主殿为三开间、抬梁式木构、悬山顶。宋绍定五年（1232年）立的“曾公陂”碑为祠中所存，清代雍正、嘉庆年间的牌匾也保留下来。2013年，此祠被列为「福建省文物保护单位（第八批）」。[1][3]

林外自然村的香龙福社为单进合院式建筑，始建于明代，清代重建。它是「莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位」。[1]
