东墩村是福建省莆田市涵江区白塘镇下辖的行政村，处在涵江区与荔城区的交界地带，属白塘镇西部。全村辖头前、后田、下墩、倔头、桥头5个自然村，共11个村民小组。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村民散居在一处小山墩的山麓，故名东墩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代，东墩属武化乡仁德里；明清两代属二区仁德里。民国初期先后归第二区显埭乡联保和漏显乡管辖，民国后期属仁德乡，又隶属涵江镇。新中国成立后属第二、六区的乡，1956年属梧塘区双安乡，后归集奎乡管辖。[2]
1961年，东墩自然村划出，成立东墩生产大队。1968年底成立的革命领导小组于1980年12月取消，大队名称未变。1984年改为东墩村，属涵江乡；1993年1月起隶属白塘镇，为东墩村民委员会。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
东墩明德祠位于掘头自然村，清中期始建，近代修葺，保持原风格，为一进廊院建筑，正厅面阔三间，穿斗式木构架，为莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。[1]
文化[edit]
2021年11月，东墩村被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2023年11月，村庄被认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版“绿盈乡村”」。[1]
