镇前村是福建省莆田市涵江区白塘镇下辖的行政村，位于莆田北洋平原的“三八平原”上，在涵江区最南端。涵黄公路贯穿村心。村下辖孝户、前社两个自然村，以及尾亭、大路、江头尾三个“大角落”，共19个村民小组。[1][2]
地名由来[edit]
村民聚居在附近海湾各村的前面，因此得名镇前。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
旧时属兴化府莆田县崇业乡孝义里。新中国成立后属莆田县集奎乡。1958年公社化时改称镇前大队，隶属人民公社；1984年改设涵江乡镇前村，隶属莆田市涵江区；1993年起归白塘镇。[1]
文化[edit]
村北临白塘湖。据百度百科，白塘湖横跨上梧、洋尾、镇前三境，主湖面积385亩，经治理后扩至约580亩。[3]
村中有古刹吉祥禅寺，另有天后宫，以及三座“明夏堂”和一座“三教先生”纪念堂；明夏堂为纪念抗倭英雄林龙江而建。[2]
2024年1月，镇前村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
