美尾村位于涵江区三江口镇东南部，南面与新浦村相连，距三江口港约800米，西侧隔海与白塘镇后宫村相望。村名原作「鼻尾」，因村子由海滩冲积而成，形状如鼻尾，后谐音雅化为「美尾」。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1964年，此地始设为生产大队；1984年改为美尾村，隶属涵江乡。1993年起属三江口镇美尾村民委员会。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村子占地约350亩，耕地约110亩，涵三公路穿村而过。村子距镇政府约1公里，距区政府约2公里。[1][2]

百度百科记该村户籍人口为338户、1528人，未注明年份。博雅地名网则记为下辖3个自然村、8个村民小组，356户，1556人，未注明年份。两处数字不同，并列备考。[1][2]
