鲸山村在涵江区三江口镇东南部，东靠兴化湾，村名来自村前的一座石墩。村庄与镇政府相距约3公里，与区政府相距约6公里，村域面积约3.7平方千米。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元两代，村地归唐安乡望江里管辖。到明清时，改入二区望江里，民国时期则称鲸山保。[2]

中华人民共和国成立后设鲸山乡，人民公社时期为涵江公社鲸山大队。1984年10月设鲸山村委会，隶属涵江乡。1993年，该村改隶三江口镇。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

村前原有一座石墩，名为石山。据博雅地名网，兴化湾退潮时，有一头鲸鱼搁浅在石墩之上，村民遂把石山改称鲸山。[2]

人口民族[edit]

百度百科记全村辖3个自然村、22个村民小组，共916户、4080人，未注明年份。[1]

村民以种植蔬菜为主要经济来源。[2]

文化[edit]

2023年11月，村庄被认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。2024年1月，村庄获「2023年福建省卫生村」称号。2022年10月，村庄获「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」称号。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

混元殿位于村内，明代建造，清代重建，主祀太上老君。该殿2000年最初被列为区级文物保护单位，2021年提升为莆田市级文物保护单位。[1][4]

悟本堂在石山自然村，清同治五年（1866年）始建，由「三一教」悟本派创始人陈智达倡建，为莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。[2][3]
