历史沿革[edit]
宋朝时此地归唐安乡望江里；明清之际改属二区望江里。民国年间先后归第二区的一个联保与三鲸乡，最后并入望江乡，称芳山保。[2]
中华人民共和国成立后，这里先属第二、八区，设芳山乡人民政府；1956年先属梧塘区巷山乡，后归望江乡，为芳山高级社。人民公社化时期划为涵江人民公社的芳山生产大队。1968年，村里成立了革命领导小组；1980年12月撤去这一机构，依旧保留生产大队。1984年改属涵江乡芳山村，1993年起为三江口镇芳山村村委会。[2]
地理环境[edit]
全村面积约580亩，福厦铁路西山特大桥从村域中穿过，水陆交通便捷。[1]
人口民族[edit]
博雅地名网记，全村有1080户、4256人，辖3个自然村、20个村民小组，未注明年份。[1]
经济[edit]
明代起，村民在此建窑烧制砖瓦，直到20世纪末仍是砖瓦专业村。此后因保护耕地与生态，村民多改为入厂务工，并种植蔬菜、荸荠。[1]
文化[edit]
村中留有后梁大闽附马故居，民间流传着《白玉蛏》的故事。[1]
2022年10月，村庄被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2022年10月，芳山村入选「2022年淘宝村」名单。2024年1月，村庄获「2023年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
