卓坡社区位于涵东街道境内。旧时这里是卓姓先民的聚居地，聚落散布在山坡与谷地之间，社区因此得名卓坡。[1]
1929年属二区卓埔（坡）乡，1945年归涵江镇卓坡保；1958年10月并入涵江人民公社，成为卓坡大队；1984年起称涵江乡卓坡村，1993年2月改属涵东街道，成为卓坡村，2002年起定名卓坡社区。[2]
