后度社区地处涵东街道，旧时这里以欧、卢、李三姓为主，当地方言中“后”与“欧”、“度”与“卢”读音相近，“欧卢里”因此音转为“后度里”，后简化为社区名。[1]
2021年3月，社区被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2024年1月，被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
瑶岛祠在社区内，建于明万历三十六年（1608年），创建者为三一教的卢文辉；清代又数次增建，1999年整体移建到现址。大殿存明代神台，五子祠迁建后改为双层，为莆田市级文物保护单位。[2]
辖区内曾有一口宋代的后度古井，古井拆除后，井神石像被迁移供奉。[3]
