宫下社区位于涵东街道境内。旧时山上建有几座宫庙，村民便在山下河谷盆地聚居，社区因此得名宫下。[1]
2021年2月，社区上榜「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单；2022年12月，被命名为「2022年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
社区内的正学门是涵江孔庙建筑群最前部的建筑。孔庙在“文革”期间被拆，仅留下正学门、泮池和四十九级台阶；正学门坊始建于南宋淳佑十一年（1251年），清道光十五年（1835年）重建。[2]
