村名的来历：村中蔡姓人口较多，又与小书亭的部分村落合并，故得名蔡亭。[2]

地理环境[edit]

截至2015年，全村耕地面积741亩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地隶属兴化府莆田县岩西社。1946至1949年间为莆田县蔡厝乡的一部分，1950年划入灵川人民公社，设蔡亭生产大队。1984年10月，大队改为村民委员会，隶属灵川乡。[2]

1988年划入莆田县灵川镇，1999年改隶莆田县东海镇，2002年起属城厢区东海镇。[2]

文化[edit]

2022年10月，蔡亭村入选2022年淘宝村名单。2021年11月，蔡亭村获评「2021年福建省卫生村」。[2]
