历史沿革[edit]
道光甲午年间迁入的先民，于1958年组成人民公社，1959年设生产大队，1984年10月改为上亭村民委员会，属灵川乡。[2]
1988年划归莆田县灵川镇，1999年改隶莆田县东海镇，2002年起属城厢区东海镇。[2]
经济[edit]
村民以加工鞋扣、鞋带为主业，村内民营企业发展较快。[2]
文化[edit]
2020年11月，上亭村被授予「第六届全国文明村镇」称号。2021年11月，上亭村获评「2021年福建省卫生村」。2024年6月，上亭村入选「福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[2]
