下尾村隶属于福建省莆田市城厢区灵川镇，是镇内的一个行政村。村名原为霞美，1958年改称下尾。[1]

名称由来[edit]

村名原作霞美，取晨光照映湖面之意。1958年设立人民公社时，村名被无意间改为下尾村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清康熙二十七年（1688），先民由新度镇的蒲坂沟迁入此地定居。1961年时为下尾大队，1965年则编入灵川人民公社的下尾大队。[1]

1984年10月，原大队改设村委会，归灵川乡辖；1988年10月，改由莆田县灵川镇管辖；2002年2月，再划入莆田市城厢区灵川镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年2月，村庄列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。2021年6月，村庄获认定为「2021年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。2022年10月，村庄经福建省农业农村厅认定，成为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
