西墩村隶属于福建省莆田市城厢区灵川镇，是镇内的一个行政村。村名与古时此地的一座土墩有关。[1]
名称由来[edit]
古时此地有铁渣与土石堆积而成的土墩，村庄位于土墩以西，因而得名西墩。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年后，此地先归第五区，随后辖区数次调整，依次划入第十五区、第十九区与第十八区，1955年并入灵川区。1958年设灵川公社西墩大队。[1]
1984年10月，原大队改设村委会，归灵川乡辖；1988年10月，改由莆田县灵川镇管辖；2002年2月，再划入莆田市城厢区灵川镇。[1]
