东进村隶属于福建省莆田市城厢区灵川镇，是镇内的一个行政村。村庄原称东汾村，后改称东进村。[1][2]

名称由来[edit]

《五帝宝经》一书提及，早在唐宪宗元和十三年（818），此地便称东汾。其后取向东进发之意，更名东进村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代至清代，此地均属莆田县醴泉里。1949年归莆田县第十八区，1950年改属第十五区，1952年又改属第十九区，1954年回到第十八区。[2]

1955年，东汾乡改设东进生产大队。1958年，原「东进高级农业合作社」更名为东进生产大队。1961年划归何寨公社，称东进大队，1965年复归灵川公社。[2]

1984年，东进生产大队更名为东进村，隶属灵川乡。1988年10月，改由莆田县灵川镇管辖；2002年2月，再划入莆田市城厢区灵川镇。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年6月，东进村获认定为「2021年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
