村名的来历与早年开族定居的人家有关。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：据博雅地名网，村中多丘陵，早年由陈、蔡两姓人家开族入居，村因而得名万坂。[1]

建国初期此地为万坂大队；1957年归溪南乡；1961年划入西许公社；1964年转入华亭公社，设万坂大队。[1]

1984年，村名定为莆田县华亭乡万坂村；1985年起改隶华亭镇；2002年起划入莆田市城厢区华亭镇万坂村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年3月，村庄被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
