郊尾村位于华亭镇境内，国道324线横贯村中，交通便利。[1]

村名取自所处位置：木兰溪的一条支流上游称郊溪，下游称郊尾，村位于下游。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年隶属第十六区郊溪乡；1950年后改属莆田县华亭区郊溪乡；1956年归郊溪高级社；1957年并入溪南乡。[2]

1962年划入华亭公社，设郊尾大队；1968年改属华亭人民公社郊尾生产大队，同年设革命领导小组；1980年又以郊尾生产大队的名义隶属莆田县华亭人民公社。[2]

1984年由队改村，归华亭乡管辖，设郊尾村委会；1985年3月，此村委会更名为华亭镇郊尾村委会；2002年起划入城厢区华亭镇。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年11月，村庄被认定为「2020年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」；2021年3月，被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2022年12月，获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名。[1]
