坪坂村位于华亭镇境内，与兴沙村、西许村、顶宅村、涧口社区等相邻，村内有西坪、西坂两个自然村。[1]

村名各取西坪、西坂两村的一字而成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

坪坂古时属清源县新兴里，中晚唐以后改归莆田县文赋里，即今华亭一带。[1]

清代以前，此地属莆田县华亭乡。1958年编入莆田县华亭人民公社，设坪坂生产大队；1968年设革命领导小组；1980年以坪坂生产大队的名义隶属华亭人民公社。[1]

1984年，由队改为村，归华亭乡，设坪坂村委会；1986年改隶华亭镇；2002年起划入莆田市城厢区华亭镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

西坂一带保存有古牌坊、古墓碑和古祠堂等历史古迹。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，村庄获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
