郑庄村位于华亭镇西部山区，四面环山，与后角村、濑溪村、西沙村等村庄相接。[1]

村名的来历是早年一位郑姓村民在此开垦园庄。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，早先有一位郑姓村民来此开发园庄，地因此得名郑庄。中晚唐时期，此地曾归维新里乡管辖。[1]

解放初的1949年，此地划归华亭乡；1952年至1955年间，名为莆田华亭乡；1956年至1957年分属华亭乡与濑溪乡。1958年编入莆田县华亭生产大队，1961年归莆田县华亭乡人民公社，1964年改属霞皋公社，1965年复归华亭公社，设郑庄大队。[2]

1968年设革命领导小组；此后于1980年，它以郑庄生产大队的名义隶属莆田县华亭人民公社；1984年12月改设华亭乡郑庄村委会；1986年归华亭镇；2002年起划入莆田市城厢区华亭镇。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年11月，村庄被认定为「2020年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」；2024年1月，获「2023年福建省卫生村」称号；2024年9月，被认定为「2024年莆田市一村一品专业村」，主导产业为龙眼。[1]
