樟塘村位于华亭镇东南部，坐落在木兰溪北岸、九龙山下，与灵川镇、东海镇隔山相望。[1]

村庄旧名樟林，因与埭头镇的樟林村重名，才改称樟塘。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代以前，这里是莆田县南门外的樟林村。1944年至1949年7月间归莆田县下花乡公所管理，此后又先后挂靠樟林保、樟霞乡，1951年划入第十六区。[1]

1952年至1955年间属樟霞乡与紫壶乡；1957年归濑溪；1958年编入华亭公社，设樟霞大队；1960年称华亭乡樟林村，1965年又改为华亭人民公社樟林村；1977年设樟林大队。[2]

1984年12月，改组为华亭乡樟塘村委会；1985年改隶华亭镇，名为樟塘村委会；1986年以后仍属华亭镇樟塘村委会。[2]

经济[edit]

村民以种植业为生，因交通不便、耕地偏少、山林占多，经济发展相对滞后。[1]
