山牌村位于城厢区南部，在华林经济开发区内，福厦公路自村中穿过，东南侧靠近木兰溪，西北侧依山。[1][4]

村名来历与村后的山岭和山下一座亭子里的石碑有关。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄背靠山岭，山脚下立着一座亭子，亭中竖有一块石碑，村因此得名山牌。[1]

1949年，此地归华亭区；1954年改属莆田县第十九区孚桥乡；1956年合入紫壶乡；1957年拆区并乡，改属濑溪乡。[2]

1958年，它编入莆田县华亭人民公社，称山牌生产大队；1961年自樟林划出，另立山牌大队。1968年设革命领导小组，1980年又成为莆田县人民公社山牌生产大队。随后在1984年，此队变为村，归华亭乡管辖；1986年归华亭镇管辖；2002年起属城厢区华亭镇。[2]

村民以种植龙眼、枇杷为主，二者是村内栽培最多的果树。[1]

著名人物[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，中国科学院院士洪茂椿出生在山牌村。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2020年11月，村庄被认定为「2020年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」；2021年与2022年，连续两年的10月均有村庄列入「淘宝村」名单。[1]

村庄于2021年11月获「2021年福建省卫生村」的称号，由福建省爱卫办命名。[1]
