过溪村位于常太镇西部，村中以枇杷为主要经济作物。[1]

村子建在莒溪边上，村民出门须经此溪渡过，村名因此而定。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代以前，此地属兴化府常太乡，民国后期归莆田县常太乡。1950年代初分属第十五区、第十四区与常太区下营溪乡，1956年并入下溪高级社。此后改称常太公社过溪大队，1984年12月设为村委会，隶属常太乡。1992年10月起划归莆田县常太镇，2002年以来属莆田市城厢区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，村子被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
