内东坪村位于常太镇北部，周围与过溪、顶坑、下莒、党城、马院等村相接。[1]

村中以枇杷为主要作物，食品加工与外出务工是主要经济支柱。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代以前，此地属兴化府常太里。解放后，它先是第八区党城乡的一部分，1950年组织成立内东坪合作社。1952年至1955年间，该地依次改隶第十五区、第十四区与常太区。1957年划入党渡乡，1958年归常太公社，1961年又回党城乡，1965年再归常太公社。1984年12月设内东坪村委会，隶属常太乡；1992年10月起属莆田县常太镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，村子获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2020年12月，内东坪村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单。[1]
