渡里村位于常太镇西北部，旧时村前设有渡口，附近村民进城多经此处，村名由此而来。[1]

畲角里自然村是本村的革命遗迹集中地，有闽中工农游击队驻地旧址和雷光熙烈士故居。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后，此地划归第八区渡里乡；1952年后划入第十四、十五区。1958年组建渡里大队，1961年改隶渡山公社，1965年复归常太公社。1984年12月设渡里村委会，隶属常太乡；1992年10月归莆田县常太镇，2002年以后属城厢区常太镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

1933年10月，郑金照回到常太，任中共常太区委书记。他又到外坑等村动员农民，发展陈文通等人参加革命，为开辟闽中游击区打下基础。[2]

闽中工农游击队驻地旧址在渡里村北部，占地约5000亩。2011年12月，中共莆田市委党史研究室为之立碑保护。[1]

雷光熙烈士故居位于畲角里，为两层土木结构，中间是露天庭院，两侧有四间厢房。[3]

1934年秋，中共莆田县委为开辟新的根据地，派郑金照、翁鸿镗等同志到常太，在漈川、金竹坑、外坑一带开展工作。中共莆田渡口支部旧址位于尾厝自然村，与此有关。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，村子获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2021年3月，被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；渡里村在2020年11月获「2020年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」认定。[1]

2024年11月，渡里村被认定为「2024年度福建省一村一品专业村」（枇杷）；2025年5月，入选「福建省美丽乡村示范村」创建名单。[1]
