霞山村位于常太镇内，村名寓意朝霞映照山野。[1]

村内的横江祖宫位于下里洋自然村，属古建筑类文物。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年后，此地先归第八区一个乡管辖，随后分属第十五区与第十四区，1955年划为常太区的一部分。1961年设立常太人民公社霞山大队，1981年改称霞山生产大队。1984年12月设霞山村委会，1992年10月归莆田县常太镇，2002年以来隶属莆田市城厢区常太镇霞山村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

横江祖宫最早称省林泉社，唐代已有此建筑；明代重建，清代与近代又多次修葺，南宋起供奉妈祖。宫殿坐东北朝西南。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，霞山村获福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
