坑洋村位于常太镇西南部，村子在搬迁之前处于山坑溪下游的平地上，村名由此而来。[1]

村民以枇杷种植和劳务输出为主要生计。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地是常太乡公所辖下的坑洋保。1949年划入第八区南坑保，1950年设南坑乡。1952年7月归莆田县第十四、十五区的南坑乡，1956年并入常太坑洋高级社，1957年隶属常太区三洋乡。1984年12月改设村，成立常太乡坑洋村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，坑洋村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
