汀洋村位于常太镇内，与霞山、山门、外东坪等村相接。[1]

村子坐落在水流的出口处，村名因此而定。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明末清初，先民从大厝洋迁居此地，初名汀洋。1950年划入第八区汀山乡，1952年改称汀岭乡，1956年复称汀山乡，1957年改属常枫乡。1958年设汀山大队，1961年起称汀洋村大队，隶属常太人民公社。1980年改设常太乡的汀洋村，1984年12月设村委会；1992年10月归常太镇，2002年以后属莆田市城厢区常太镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村子在2022年12月获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号，授予单位为福建省爱国卫生运动委员会。[1]
