东太村位于常太镇北部，村界东抵利车一带的山脚，西接半厘山，南边是东圳水库的湾口，北端为张公庙一带。[1]

村中以枇杷等果树种植为主业，林业也是主导产业之一。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代以前此地属莆田县常太里，1947年至1949年间属第八区东溪会堡。1950年设东造乡，1952年至1955年改隶第十四区，仍称东造乡。1956年划入常太东造高级公社，1957年改属常枫乡。1958年成为常太人民公社东太生产大队，1965年又称常太公社东太大队。1984年12月，大队改名为东太村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年3月，东太村被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，获福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

2023年11月，东太村被认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
