照车村位于常太镇东部，村域以山地为主，村民种植枇杷、橄榄、龙眼等果树。[1]

村子所在的山脉自白漈一路延伸至此，远望如一头牛拉着两辆车，村名即由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年此地属第八区东昭乡，1956年改隶常太区双车乡，1957年设照车乡。1958年成立常太公社照车大队，1961年改属东圳公社，1965年复归常太公社。1984年改设照车村委会，隶属常太乡；1992年10月划入莆田县常太镇，2002年以后归城厢区常太镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年9月，照车村被认定为「2024年莆田市一村一品专业村」，主导产业为枇杷。[1]
