常太社区是常太镇的镇中心区，镇人民政府即设在社区内的利洋一带。[2]社区的旧名为常太村，名称寓意「长治泰安」，字音上「长」与「常」相近，「泰」与「太」相近。[1]
社区里有郑金照烈士故居，位于梧坑小组，是本地的红色旅游景点。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年，此地归第八区后垅大队管辖；1955年改属第十四区，1957年归后垅乡。1958年设常太公社后垅大队，1961年改属后垅公社，下辖白利洋、后垅、九坑三个大队。1970年定名为常太村委会，1986年起隶属城厢区常太镇。[1]
2018年6月，常太村改组为常太社区居民委员会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，常太社区获福建省爱卫办授予的「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
郑金照烈士故居位于梧坑小组，为两层土木结构的民居，以正厅为中轴，两侧厢房对称，占地三百余平方米。因长年失修，墙体多处开裂，现已列为危房。[3]
