常太镇位于福建省莆田市城厢区西北部，东邻荔城区西天尾镇，西与仙游县的榜头、钟山两镇交界。[1][2]镇境山地多而耕地少，枇杷种植是农民收入的支柱，博雅地名网称这里是莆田规模最大的枇杷产区。[2]

地名的来历，博雅地名网载为取「长治泰安」之意，「长」通「常」，「泰」通「太」；百度百科则作「长治久安」之意。宋时辖境称常太里，属崇业乡。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元之际直至明初，此地先后归常泰、丰城、保丰三里辖制。洪武二十四年（1391年），保丰、丰城两里合入常泰里，辖境由此最为广阔。[1][2]

1943年改称常太乡，1958年设常太公社，1984年改为乡，1992年10月改设莆田县常太镇。2002年，常太划归莆田市城厢区管辖。[1][2]

镇政府设于常太社区利洋1号，邮编为351100，区号是0594。[3]

人口民族[edit]

截至2019年末，常太镇的户籍人口为43193人。[1]

经济[edit]

镇境耕地少而山地多，枇杷是农民收入的支柱产业。[2]

农业还出产水稻、水果和食用菌，乡镇工业则以水电和食品加工为主。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2011年，环境保护部颁授常太镇「2011年度国家级生态乡镇」称号；同年8月，农业部把它认定为「第一批全国一村一品示范村镇」（枇杷）。[2]

2021年2月，常太镇列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单；同年10月，入选「2021年福建省全域生态旅游小镇」。[2][1]

常太镇于2022年4月列入「2022年农业产业强镇」创建名单；同年十月，省农业农村厅将其认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[2]

2023年2月，常太镇列入「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡镇」名单；同年12月，被命名为「2023年度福建省森林乡镇」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

莆田九龙谷位于溪南村，博雅地名网称其为「国家4A级旅游景区」「国家水利风景区」，景区最高海拔717米，景区内的大坑溪是九鲤湖的下游。[12]

2006年12月，福建九龙谷经国家林业局批准为国家级森林公园，总面积1148公顷。[5]

郑金照烈士故居位于常太社区梧坑小组，是两层土木结构的民居，博雅地名网将其列为红色旅游点。[4]

闽中工农游击队驻地旧址在渡里村畲角里一带，占地约5000亩。2011年12月，中共莆田市委党史研究室为之立碑保护。[6]

李富墓位于岭下村坪田自然村，为宋代建造的墓葬，2005年公布为福建省文物保护单位。[7]

著名人物[edit]

郑金照（1911—1936）出生于常太乡，1926年，他考入省立莆田高级中学；1933年出任中共常太区委书记，1935年任闽中工农游击队第二支队支队长，1936年在一次袭击敌军的战斗中牺牲。[4][8]

雷光熙（1917—1941）为畲族，出生于渡里村，是闽中游击队的骨干成员。1934年，他献出家中所藏的武器，党组织借此在常太组建游击队。[9][11]

韩永藩（1902—1931）又名李应葵，生于马院村的贫苦农家，历任共青团莆田县委书记。[10][2]
