林桥村位于莆田市城厢区西北部的凤凰山一带，村名取自林圳、桥尾两个自然村各一字。村内有唐代的唐甘露林墓葬。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村名是从林圳与桥尾两个自然村各取一字组成的。[1]

建置沿革[edit]

清朝时此村属莆田县筱塘乡。1958年归莆田县坑坪公社的林桥生产大队，1961年改属城郊人民公社林桥生产大队，1969年设林桥队革命领导小组，1980年改为城郊人民公社林桥生产大队。[1]

村委会在2002年归入凤凰山街道，此前的沿革是：1984年由生产队改为村，隶属城厢区城郊乡；1986年改属莆田市城郊乡；1991年改设城厢区城南乡的林桥村委会。[1]

文化遗存[edit]

唐甘露林在村内，属古墓葬，为唐贞观年间为林欑父母所建的合葬墓。墓坐西北朝东南，深13米，宽7.5米，占地97.5平方米，平面呈「风」字形。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年3月，村庄被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，村庄被福建省爱卫办确定为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
