朱坑村位于莆田市城厢区西北部，村名因周围的田园与山形而来。村庄在2021年和2023年先后获得多项荣誉。[1]

地名由来[edit]

清代以来，村子四周多是田园，中间立着一座形如珠子的小山，故取「朱」字的谐音为村名；村子又位于山下，地势低洼，所以加上「坑」字。[1]

建置沿革[edit]

清朝时此地为莆田县筱塘乡。1958年起，村子先隶属坑坪公社，并设朱坑生产大队；1961年改归城郊人民公社，1969年又设革命领导小组。[1]

2002年，村委会划归莆田市城厢区凤凰山街道。此前，它曾于1980年定为莆田县城厢区城郊乡的朱坑村委会，1986年改属莆田市城郊乡，1991年又改为城南乡的村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年3月，村庄被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，村庄被福建省爱卫办确定为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2023年11月，村庄被认定为「2023年度莆田市中级版“绿盈乡村”」。[1]
