龙桥街道是福建省莆田市城厢区下辖的街道，位于城厢区西部，是中共莆田市委、市政府的驻地，也是莆田市政治、经济、文化与商贸的中心城区之一。[1][3][5]

街道办事处设在龙桥社区，街道因此得名；龙桥社区一带古称龙桥铺。[1][3]

街道辖区面积20.6平方千米，2002年组建，截至2022年10月辖8个社区和3个行政村。2011年末户籍人口为40720人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时期此地属莆田县的崇业里、永嘉乡和武化乡，明清时期分属多个里，民国时期设龙桥乡。[3]

1961年，龙桥铺一带设立泗华人民公社，公社驻龙桥街；1963年并入城郊人民公社。[3]

1984年，城厢区成立后设立龙桥街道办事处。[3]

2002年，莆田市区划调整时组建龙桥街道，由原荔城、凤凰山两个街道的部分居委会与原城郊乡的村合并而成。[1][2][3]

2021年2月，街道列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]

地理环境[edit]

街道位于城厢区西部，东邻荔城区的拱辰、镇海两个街道，南接凤凰山街道，西与常太镇相连，北与荔城区西天尾镇接壤。[1]

境内的天马山与城区主山松峰相连，山势如奔马，山间旧有宝泉寺。街道属南亚热带海洋性季风气候。[1][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

石室岩又名伏虎岩，位于大象山，是莆田二十四景之一「石室藏烟」所在地。石室岩寺始建于唐代初期，北宋绍圣年间建佛寺，明万历年间陈经邦主持重建寺院与北极殿，形成佛道共处的格局。山间的金鞭砖塔是明代重建的七层楼阁式砖塔，今为福建省文物保护单位。[6]

西岩广福寺位于太平社区，明万历年间始建，原为礼部尚书陈经邦的别墅，清初改作寺院。1937年，中共闽中工委曾在寺中设立抗日办事处。[7][4]

闽中抗日办事处旧址位于田尾新村。1937年9月，中共闽中工委在此设立办事处，负责与国民党方面协商联合抗日事宜；1940年办事处转往沿海，同年撤销。旧址为莆田市文物保护单位，并列入福建省第一批革命文物名录。[8]

梅峰寺即梅峰光孝寺，位于兴安社区，始建于宋元丰八年（1085年），宋徽宗赐额「梅林佛国」，今为汉族地区佛教全国重点寺院。[9][10]

泗华陂位于泗华村，始建于唐代，据载由吴兴建造，又称嗣何陂、使华阪、永利陂，为莆田市市级文物保护单位。[11]

延寿桥位于延寿村，南宋建炎元年（1127年）始建，为石梁桥，现存14孔，全长93.5米，2005年被公布为第六批省级文物保护单位。[12]
