历史沿革[edit]
明嘉靖年间，金门汶沙保的彭氏迁来此地，以原籍的沙尾为村名，后雅化为沙美[1]。
清代隶属民安里十都蓬莱保，1943年划归仁风乡沙美保，1950年设沙美乡，1955年划入洪钟区[1]。1959年成立沙美大队，隶新店公社；1961年划至盐山公社，1964年又回新店公社；1984年设沙美村委会，归新店乡，1987年改称新店镇；1997年转同安区，2003年转翔安区[1]。
地理环境[edit]
村子后方靠鹊鸟髻山，聚落分南北两段，村内石材资源丰富[1]。
文化[edit]
普佑宫又称荣府王爷宫，坐落于沙美自然村，该庙始建于明万历年间，后于1987年重修[1]。村内留有农民协会活动旧址[1]。
