同美社区原为马巷镇的同美村委会，2006年改为社区，现属民安街道[1]。社区原名塘仔尾，因与东西相对的塘仔头相对，后改用较雅的「同美」二字[1]。旧村辖下方、后柄、打埔、山头、万家春六个自然村[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
清代此地归同禾里五都僻埔、山头保，1943年归侯牧乡赵厝、李厝保。1950年改名海滨乡，1956年又并入巷西乡，1959年起属马巷公社海滨大队，1961年才另设同美大队[1]。1964年回归马巷公社，1984年改为后滨乡下的村委会，1987年归马巷镇[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
万家春村是朱熹任同安主簿时为方姓选定的村址。村境内有朱文公庙、朱文公井等文物古迹，据博雅地名网所载[2]。
