后莲社区是翔安区民安街道下辖的社区，2006年由旧后莲村委会改制而来。社区名取自地形，据说地势如湖中莲花[1]。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办将后莲社区命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

清代属翔风里十二都后莲保，1943年分属侯牧乡的蔡浦、亭洋、窗东等保，1950年称窗东乡，1959年设马巷公社蔡浦大队[1]。1961年析设后莲大队，属巷南公社，1984年改为后滨乡下的后莲村委会，1987年属马巷镇[1]。
