琼头社区位于凤翔街道西南部，伸入海中的一处岬角上，三面临海，辖琼头、陈下厝两个自然村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
相传建村之初，海岬顶端长着一棵大乌桕树，村因此得名。乌桕与琼在当地方言中同音，遂写作琼头，又称龙头。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代隶翔风里龙头保。1943年归侯牧乡，1950年设琼头乡，隶第五区。1959年改称琼江大队，划入马巷公社；1964年改隶东坑公社，1969年又称琼头大队。1984年改为琼头村委会，归后滨乡，1987年并入马巷镇。1997年划入同安区，2003年改隶翔安区，2006年2月转为社区。2021年先改隶马巷街道，同年再划归凤翔街道。[1]
名人故里[edit]
清咸丰年间行伍出身、官至台湾总兵的林向荣，以此地为故里。[1]
