沈井社区位于马巷街道北部，城乡分类属村庄。早年这里是沈姓的聚居地，村中一口大井即使遇大旱也不干涸，故称沈井。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
2006年6月改制为社区，1997年划归同安区，2003年改属翔安区，1987年属马巷镇，1984年为后滨乡沈井村委会，1964年属马巷公社，1961年另立沈井大队，归巷西公社管辖，1950年归曾村乡，1943年属民石乡沈井保，清代属同禾里六都沈井保。[1]
荣誉[edit]
沈井社区于2022年12月获「福建省爱国卫生运动委员会」命名，列为「2022年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
