地名由来[edit]
据传小嶝洪氏始祖洪道隐居于此岛，以「嶝山」为堂号；岛因此得名小嶝[2]。
地理环境[edit]
小嶝岛处于翔安、南安、晋江、金门交界处，东面与晋江围头隔海相望，西面与大嶝岛相邻，南面正对金门岛[2]。岛形如仰卧的人，两端为头与足[2]。
历史沿革[edit]
清代此地属同安县翔风里的16都，称小嶝堡。民国末年改称东乡小嶝保；1950年组建小嶝乡，划入大嶝区[1]。1958年起这里设为海燕大队，1965年改为小嶝公社[1]。
1984年以小嶝为名设村委会，归大嶝乡管辖。2003年起隶翔安区大嶝镇，2005年2月，村委会转为小嶝社区居委会[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
1958年八二三炮战期间，小嶝经历了炮火，岛上至今保留着明碉暗堡、战壕和对台广播的原址，地底下还有坑道[2]。
小嶝喇叭堡位于社区东部海边的环村路旁，距金门约3600米，堡高10.8米，堡内原装有48套军事广播喇叭，整套装置用铅灌制而成[1]。
理学家邱葵长期隐居小嶝，岛上留有他题刻的棋局石、钓矶石和乐丘石等处的对联[2]。
荣誉[edit]
2014年10月，农业部将小嶝社区认定为「2014年中国最美休闲乡村」[1]。2024年1月，社区获「2023年福建省卫生社区」的命名[1]。
