历史沿革[edit]
清代此地属同安县翔风里大嶝保。1914年归金门县，称嶝东乡四堡后保；1950年改属嶝东乡，隶大嶝区[1]。
1958年先称东星大队，归大嶝公社管辖；1984年改称东埕村委会，编入大嶝乡。2003年起属翔安区，2005年2月，村委会转为社区居委会[1]。
地名由来[edit]
东蔡因为蔡姓居住而得名，村子又位于大嶝岛东面，故称东蔡[2]。后店原先是一位老人在四保后开店铺，店铺周边渐成村落，因此称后店[2]。溪墘原名溪边，村民从民安里迁来，为纪念祖居地的村前溪流而保留此名[2]。坑尾原名坑美，因建村时位于坑坪的末端而改称[2]。麦埕原名烈池，建居前村前有一片晒谷的空地，故称麦埕[2]。
人物[edit]
据博雅地名网，明嘉靖年间的文举人、两淮运使王佐，以及清雍正年间的文举人王飞龙，都以后店为故里[1]。
