四林村位于五显镇与汀溪镇的交界处，地处同安区汀溪主道路一侧，北侧接同安二环路四林路段。[2]村名的来历是：原有国舅林、树林等以「林」字为标记的片区，以及梨子林村落，四处合为一个高级农业合作社，遂以「四林」为名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代村地属长兴里一至三都的梨山保。1943年划入长兴乡塘宅保，1950年归西洋乡。[1]
1959年设布塘公社四林大队；1984年改设五显乡四林村委会，1991年随乡改镇，1997年划归同安区，此后沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2025年5月，四林村被选入「2025—2026年全国示范性老年友好型社区创建名单」。[1]
