下峰村是五显镇下辖的行政村，位于镇南部，村委会驻下峰。村名由相邻村庄的方位而来：居于上风头的村称上峰，居于下风头的称下峰，因「风」与「峰」谐音，遂称下峰。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代村地属长兴里峰寮保，民国时（1943年）归长兴乡五显保。1950年归第四区五显乡管，1959年析出五联大队，隶属布塘公社。[1]
1964年改属果园公社。1984年起以驻地命名为下峰村委会，归五显乡管辖，此后沿用这一名称。[1]
文化[edit]
村中有五显中心小学，并设幼儿园与卫生所；同安通往新圩的公路从村内穿过。[2]
经济[edit]
村里的耕地以农果并重，主要产稻谷、甘薯、花生、龙眼和桃子。[2]
