历史沿革[edit]
镇名来自境内的汀溪，汀字原写作“鼎”。这一带溪流众多，溪边多平地和小洲。[1]
宋代此地属永丰乡感化里，清代村落分属感化里的六都、七都、八都。1943年境内村落归美峰乡管辖。1956年属汀溪区，1958年并为汀溪乡，1959年改为汀溪公社。1961年析出上埔、五峰两个公社，1964年二者并回汀溪公社。1984年公社改为乡，1991年撤乡设镇。[1][2]
地理环境[edit]
地势北高南低，境内最高峰云顶山海拔1175.2米，汀溪贯境形成河谷地貌。气候属南亚热带海洋性季风气候。[2]
辖区面积的数字有两个：博雅地名网记为155.85平方公里，百度百科记为152.11平方千米，两者数字不一，此处各列其说，未作取舍。[1][2]
镇内的汀溪水库上游一段是饮用水源保护区，其中的造水村位于二级保护区范围内。[6]
人口与产业[edit]
百度百科记截至2019年末户籍人口为24959人；博雅地名网记人口约1.99万人，未注明年份。[2][1]
产业以农业和山地经济为主，镇内种植龙眼、荔枝、柑桔、蜜柚等果蔬，褒美村的芋头以「褒美进士芋」之名注册为地理标志商标。[1][5]
名胜古迹[edit]
宋代汀溪窑址位于汀溪水库一带，属福建省文物保护单位，列为第一批，编号1-47，年代为宋，类别为古遗址。[4]
五峰村的德安古堡以鹅卵石垒砌的城墙著称，又称汀溪古堡、五峰古堡、德安土楼，是镇内的主要景区。[7]
荣誉[edit]
汀溪镇获得过多项称号。2016年10月，它经住房和城乡建设部认定，成为「第一批中国特色小镇」。2012年12月，环境保护部把「2010—2011年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号授予了它。2020年，镇上先在4月被确定为「2019年度福建省乡村振兴重点特色乡（镇）」，后在12月由福建省爱卫办命名为「福建省卫生乡镇」。2021年初，它列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单，同年5月又入选「2022年度福建省乡村振兴示范乡镇」创建名单。2022年10月，它经福建省农业农村厅认定，成为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2023年2月，它上榜「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡镇」名单。2025年3月，它被认定为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范乡镇」。[1][2]
